Gratitude to the strong.
There was a time when farms and farmers represented over 60% of the US workforce. The foundation of the country was built on the backs and efforts of people that cultivated the land using the soil as their canvas and seeds as their palette.
Chores required intense discipline. Arising at the crack of dawn your lessons for the day included knowledge of agriculture, animals, and the details of running a small business. The end of each season brought a renewed gratitude for the bounty of the harvest where feast or famine were the possible outcomes.
Currently 2% of the US population are working or living on a farm. Although modern technology now assists the farmer in their daily efforts it has and will always come down to the shear will and pride of the farmers to work their land.
