With all the recent world events as well as being isolated for months, an interesting thing has happened. Analyzing satellite images and various reported climate data you can see that in this remarkably short period of time the earth has started to clean-up some of the damage caused by humans.
Air pollution has almost vanished in countries that had a serious issue with it. The canals of Venice have become so clean that fish have returned to swim. In the atmosphere, levels of CO2 have seen a significant reduction. All of this in a matter of a few months, but I’m sure that once human activity resumes it will increase again.
Reflecting on this for a moment we come to the realization that the power of nature far outweighs the power of any long-term effect that humans can have on it. We are mistaken to think that we can even come close to competing with this power and to learn to understand it for what it is. The ability to move the earth with earthquakes, create hurricanes, bring storms, as well as to cleanse the earth, are all within nature’s capability. We have been provided with the ultimate gift of being able to share in this beautiful world we call home. Respect it and be grateful for the honor.
