Thoughts While Creating
Every town needs one.
Whether it’s a hot cup of coffee, some local food, or even the weather report, you can be sure to find it at the General Store. Located at the town center it has continued the tradition of home place for people of the community.
As the snow falls, the geese take flight on their morning trip and the activity of the town begins as everyone wakes to the new day. The 7th grade teacher, Miss Linda, stops to purchase a few supplies for her classroom, pencils, erasures, and even construction paper are in aisle 3 right next to the electrical items. She will also grab her morning tea and one of Mrs. Baker’s piping hot coffee rolls. A few comments on local gossip and she is on her way.
Small towns are at the heart of this country and one of the things that have made America great are local gathering places such as General Stores where communities interact and get involved. As we expand and create larger and larger big box stores and franchises let’s not forget about what it is that has continued to bring us together.
