Thoughts While Creating

What is stronger? A tree that is rigid and snaps in a strong wind or a bamboo that is flexible and bends to the wind?

Bamboo, one of the “Four Gentlemen” (bamboo, orchid, plum blossom and chrysanthemum), plays an important role in traditional Chinese culture and is even regarded as a model of behavior.

Ancient Chinese poets wrote countless poems to praise bamboo and its qualities of uprightness, tenacity, and flexibility. According to laws, an ancient poet, Bai Juyi (772–846), thought that to be a gentleman, a man must be upright, perseverant, as well as flexible.
